Learn Life-Saving First Aid Skills for the Workplace
An Overview of First Aid at Work
-
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) is a comprehensive three-day program. It’s the highest level of workplace first aid training before reaching paramedic or emergency responder levels.
This course is specifically for:
High-Risk Industry Workers: Essential for those in construction, manufacturing, chemical plants, or warehouses where machinery and heavy equipment increase the likelihood of severe injury.
Designated Lead First Aiders: Individuals responsible for the primary first aid response in large organisations (usually those with 50+ employees).
Environments with Underlying Health Risks: Staff working in settings where they may need to manage complex conditions like heart attacks, strokes, or major allergic reactions.
-
Generally, you should:
Choose First Aid at Work (FAW) if you are in a higher-risk environment like construction or manufacturing, or if your workplace has over 50 employees. This three-day course is more advanced, teaching you to manage major trauma, fractures, and medical conditions like heart attacks or strokes.
Choose Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) if you work in a low-risk setting like a small office or shop with fewer than 50 people. This one-day course covers life-saving basics like CPR and choking.

The First Aid at Work (FAW) course takes three days to complete.

Given the nature of first aid, you cannot take this course online.
